So many wonderful memories were made this past weekend when my sister invited us to stay with her in Oceanside. I wish I could spend all my days like this – lazily wandering north San Diego county in search of that “perfect beach.” Watching sea lions roll around on kelp beds along the shores, eating, tasting beers, watching Ezra boogie board for the first time, chasing a sandy baby, watching Olive throw sand and then give me her shocked face. We got to play at the beach while it rained warm water on us and not even care. It really was a magical time!
I like, really really, like this family. I started documenting the big events for them when Mandy was pregnant with her son, Daniel. Not only is Mandy beautiful but she is also incredibly kind and patient with her children. Her maternity shoot was so much fun. We had great light, happy kids, and she rocked it with their outfits!

These two…as I edited through their photos I couldn’t help but feel joy. I loved that they were so natural and full of genuine laughter when they were together. We started their session at The Back Abby, where they had their first date, and then carried on by strolling through Claremont. We all shared so many smiles that I headed back to my car after the shoot with sore cheeks! If there was this much joy and love on their engagement session I cant wait to see what their wedding is going to feel like. Love.

It seems like a life time ago that I knew Genessa. Beck in middle school I was best friends with her baby sister. Reconnecting with her, more than ten years later I was surprised to see the girl I knew, all those years ago, transformed into a beautiful strong woman. This momma exuded warmth and strength. I can’t wait to meet her new little Bub I know it;s going to be a beautiful session.
